Standards for Small Business Training Program SHAPE UP FOR THE MILLENNIUM Get Your Business 'Fit' For The Future! In the face of a fickle economy, a changing work force and a highly competitive environment filled with finicky consumers, you need to have a process to keep your business thriving. To help you stay competitive we co-sponsor a series of workshops on small business survival conducted by Kent Burnes, a nationally respected economic development expert. In order to succeed small businesses must evolve with the times. Especially when you consider that "by the year 2000, 30% of today's small businesses will be out of business," says Burnes. The series of workshops takes a "back to basics" approach that provides novice and experienced business owners alike with techniques and strategies for improvement that can be implemented immediately. Topics cover the full range of business concerns such as: - Finding and keeping the edge on your competition - Competing with national discount chains - Client/Customer retention - it costs less to keep them than to find them. - Pricing your products or services - De-mystifying your business numbers - What to do when disaster strikes Regular automotive maintenance ensures your car can make it in the fast lane. When was the last time you gave your business a tune-up? Learn to better understand your competition, your market, your customers and your business to keep your business on the fast track.
